Mr. Hughes is an avid golfer with wins in the Sunny King Golf Tournament and other golf tournaments. He loves gardening and the arts and enjoys spending time with his wife, Sally, and their animals. Pat Hughes founded the University of Alabama baseball camp in Anniston, soliciting donations that allowed many underprivileged boys to attend the camp. During the 1990s, Mr. Hughes began coaching high school boys’ basketball while still maintaining his law practice. He led several of his teams to the area championship and earned the title of County Coach of the Year three times.
